If your job is to find stories, you can’t rely on someone else to tell you what is going to be best. As a nonprofit fundraiser or development executive, a church media team or a higher education communications department, you have to get to the frontlines yourself. Become a journalist. Remember why you do what you do and actually get out there and connect with the people that you serve.
Dig into storytelling. Your stories are the heart and soul of your organization, and they are ultimately why people give toward the work you’re doing.
"I have learned so much about stories and how to craft them in a way that helps others understand our message clearly."
